DREAM_PACE challenge at the Technische Universität Berlin and BGI - Sustainable Ventures winter school held in #Aveiro (Portugal)!   Together with BGI - Sustainable Ventures from Lisbon and the Universidade de Aveiro, Technische Universität Berlin invited 35 students across Europe for the #Innov4Mobility winter school on latest trends in urban mobility and research.   “How to reconnect Europe’s rural regions” was the DREAM_PACE challenge set by TU Berlin. 6 students discussed mobility services nowadays and worked on a business idea on #DRT (Demand Responsive Transport) in rural regions. The aim was to develop a social-technological solution to provide villages of the Hinterland with mobility provision.   As a result, the group developed - in February 2024 - their DRT-platform CommuniRide in line the principles of blue zones (where people live especially long and healthy) and the integration of local business. #CominiRide does not only aim to guarantee mobility services but also envisions DRT as a collective space of social interaction.  

A month ago at this time, I was waiting for the airplane that would bring me home from the 29th EuroClio Annual Conference. ONE MONTH. That's how long it took me to be able to still my emotions about the conference long enough to gather my thoughts and reflect on Vilnius 2023. In the meanwhile, my colleagues at EuroClio have posted a beautiful article on the key take aways from the Annual Conference, participants have shared their photos and thoughts. I will let their content cover the serious reflection. Myself, I have floundered every time I wanted to send a thank you email, looking for the right words to say. So, I will focus on miscellanous lesson learned. Without further ado, this is what I learned from the Annual Conference, this year. Out of context because it's more fun! 1. There's always a solution. And the solution is people. It doesn't matter if your bus is an hour late due to traffic, which makes your lunch an hour late, which makes your whole afternoon programme an hour late. People like to spend time together, and the one hour waiting time will turn into three partnerships, two project ideas and a solid 7 suggestions for articles. All with abundant laughter on the side. 2. Youth led projects are great. They are creative, engaging, and straight to the point. We should put students in charge of their own learning more often. 3. History Educators make the best dancers. I feel so privileged to having had the chance to see Vilnius 2023 unfolding. Can't wait for Sofia 2024. #people #teachertraining #historyeducation
